O.C.D, this disorder rules 1 in every 50 peoples lives everyday, making simple tasks like washing there hands become a few hour task. What causes the compulsion is due to the unstimulated neurotransmitter known as serotonin. What this means is a nerve impulse is unable to pass across the synapse therefore repeating itself which causes the compulsive need to complete the task however with the use of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors also known as SSRI’s this allows the serotonin to become more simulated.
